Plays Riggan, an actor preparing to appear in a Broadway play, although he is best known for his portrayal of a popular superhero.

This is his first Academy Award nomination.

EDDIE REDMAYNE – The Theory of Everything

Plays Stephen Hawking, a brilliant young cosmologist who learns that he is suffering from a progressive motor neuron disease.

This is his first Academy Award nomination.
