VIENNA RINGSTRASSE 150 YEARS

With occasion of the anniversary of the Ringstrasse we moved to Vienna, Austria its capital, a cultural and political center of the country, one of the oldest capitals of Europe. Captivated by its architectonic beauty we are in the central town in one of the avenue most beautiful of the world; we are in the Ringstrasse which this year celebrates 150 years of its construction. This via that arounds the center of the town marks the transition of Vienna from one medieval city to a modern city.
Opened on May 1, 1865 by Emperor Francisco Jose, the Ringstrasse is the starting point to the great architectural of the time. In the Ring of Viena - as it is also known - we find many representative buildings incomparable to anywhere in the world, we can appreciate the architectural beauty of the Vienna State Opera (Wiener Staatsgser), Vienna University and City Hall, of 5.3 km of long and 57 m. wide which connect us with the imperial past that surround us.
Its architectonic beauty is represented for different styles, from neo-renaissance, Gothic, neo-classical to neo-baroque. Buildings like Vienna University, Natural History and Art History Museum, Vienna State Opera one of the most important companies opera in the world; and the Vienna Stock Exchange, are clear representatives style of neo-renaissance. Enjoy a walk for the Ringstrasse, the Ring Tram of Vienna a tram that runs all the Ring street, it moves in intervals of 30 minutes from Schwedenplatz and goes around the street, while offers information in a support multimedia audiovisual. Each wagon – 31 seats- have monitors of LCD reporting the most interesting aspects along the way, with headphones that offer information in different languages. Also exist the option of a program of audio for children, for the passenger more small.
To celebrate the anniversary of Ring of Vienna, Schlumberger, a community of bars in Vienna, along with WienTourismus, have launched a competition for cocktails. The winner: “Sound of the Ring” by Kan Zuo.

Kan Zuo is chinese of born and directs the place “The Sign Lounge Bar” in the street LiehtensteinstraBe 104 -106 in the ninth district of Vienna.
To create the cocktail, he inspired by the sensations experienced when he arrived in Vienna, 16 years ago. “I wanted to create a golden drink that reflect the atmosphere of nobility of the Ring” were the words of Kan Zuo. With his creation, makes an apologia of the culture of Viennese cafés, combining it with the noble Viennese bubbling champagne and with the citric exotic freshness calamansí, that represent the international.
Recipe for the “Sound of the Ring”
1,5 cl Broker's Gin
1 cl balsamic vinegar of calamansí
1 cl lemon juice
1,5 cl sugar syrup
2 hints of chocolate bitters
7 cl Schlumberger Sparkling Brut
The ingredients, except Sparkling Brut have to stir and then complete with Schlumberger.
Glass: glass of champagne
Decoration: immerse the edge of glass first in Galliano Ristretto and continued in sugar.
